In regard of a gold finger ring found by Mr Cooper on Castor Parish Land at Ferryfield, Gunwade Ferry, Castor, 19th June 2021, which had been determined by Coroner Ref 00012T2022 that this object falls outside the definition of Treasure at the time of discovery.

The Coroner concluded the finger-ring could not securely be dated as 300 years or more in age as prescribed in the Treasure Act 1996, Treasure No 2022T1023

Castor Parish Council, being the entitled party to the find, there being no tenant on their  land at Ferryfield, have agreed with the finder that Castor Parish Council will ascertain the value of the ring and as soon as convenient.

On receipt of the agreed value, less any costs, give half in cash to Mr. Lee Cooper of the above address, in full and final settlement of any and all claims upon Castor Parish Council.

Castor Parish Council will then be the sole owner of the above object.
